Christian Robinson’s OUT OF THIS WORLD Author Visit
We were beyond thrilled to welcome Caldecott and Coretta Scott King honoree Christian Robinson to England Elementary, on the *very first* morning of his book tour for his eagerly anticipated debut as author-illustrator with his wordless picture book, Another.
Ms. Holcek’s second graders proudly introduced Mr. Robinson, sharing with the audience details about his books, helping welcome him to our school and kicking off his presentation.
Our kindergarten, first and second grade students (and teachers!) were enthralled with his presentation, and we all enjoyed “telling” the story of Another from our perspectives as he shared it with us during a special wordless group read-aloud.
We’re still buzzing & starstruck over welcoming Author/Illustrator Christian Robinson to @ElsaEngRRISD on Monday, as he shared about his *brand new* book, Another (which is AMAZING – buy it today)! Thanks to @BookPeople for the incredible opportunity! 🤩🎉📚🌎 #LibrariesRRock pic.twitter.com/6gQ47kh0my

Welcome Back to the Library, Leopards!
I’m thrilled to be kicking off our SEVENTH year together at Elsa England! I’ve already begun Library Orientations with 5th, 4th, and 3rd grade, and will finish up this week with the rest of the classes not yet visited the library! By the end of this week, all 1,200 of our K-5 students will have received their library orientation lesson and checked out their FIRST books of the year!!!
Read more about our library policies, sign up for our Birthday Book Club, consider volunteering in the library, sign up for a parent library account, or check our library schedule — all right here on our library website!
We have a FABULOUS year in store together, and I can’t wait to get started!
Presenting Armadillo Readers’ Choice Award at TLA 2018
I had the best time presenting today at the 2018 Texas Library Association Annual Conference in Dallas. Two of my favorite librarians, Kristen Fournier and Stephanie Inzana, and I, were thrilled to share The Round Rock ISD Armadillo Readers’ Choice Award with a packed room of hundreds of librarians! Our session hit capacity and were so excited! Check out our presentation.
I’m incredibly proud of my co-presenters and our amazing #ArmadilloAward Committee! What a fabulous audience & incredible experience to present at #txla18! Can’t wait to connect w/ librarians across the state & share resources! #LibrariesRRock https://t.co/B6Blg4bSqs pic.twitter.com/0xRBJvtFww
