Welcome Back to the Library, Leopards!

I’m thrilled to be kicking off our 6th year together at Elsa England! I’ve already begun Library Orientations with 5th, 4th, and 3rd grade, and will finish up this week with the rest of the classes not yet visited the library! By the end of this week, all 1,100 of our K-5 students will have received their library orientation lesson and checked out their FIRST books of the year!!!

Read more about our library policies, sign up for our Birthday Book Club, consider volunteering in the library, sign up for a parent library account, or check our library schedule — all right here on our library website!

Join the Birthday Book Club!

This year’s Welcome Packets will include a form for you to join the Birthday Book Club this year at England Elementary!

Stop by the library during Open House on Thursday to fill out your form (don’t forget to bring $15.00 cash or a check), or return your completed form with payment attached in your child’s daily folder.

Thank you for supporting this library fundraiser!

Back to school!

Can you believe it’s already time to head back to school soon?  It seems like just a few weeks ago we were planning our Summer Vacations and celebrating our second year together at England Elementary!

Yesterday was my first day back at England, and I will be busy working in the next few weeks to plan and organize an awesome year ahead in the England Library!

Do YOU have what it takes to be a Bibliophile?
Do you love books?
Well, you might just be Bibliophile material!

Mrs. Kupersztoch is holding Information Sessions on Tuesday, September 3rd during 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade recess.  If you think you want to be a Bibliophile, come to your grade level’s Information Session to find out more and pick up an application!

Applications are due to Mrs. Kupersztoch on Tuesday, September 10th at 3:00 pm.

Our First Inventory

Our library is looking more and more beautiful every day!  Last Monday, August 6th, our first shipment of 6,500 books arrived and was shelved by an awesome crew!  Then, on Thursday, August 9th, our next shipment of 5,800 books arrived and was unpacked and shelved.

This past Tuesday, August 14th, I invited six of the Bibliophiles (student library volunteers) from my previous school to come to England and have an inventory party to scan all of our library books!  The girls were AMAZING, and we were able to scan ALL of our 13,000 library books in less than 5 hours!!!  They also helped unpack our new calculators and CD players and straighten the library.  I truly appreciate their help this week, because without them, our library would still have a long way to go before being ready!

I can’t wait until next Thursday’s Open House when I get to share our beautiful library with the entire England Community!  Please be sure to stop by and take a look around!
