YOU can win a free copy of The Rookie Bookie, a brand new book set to be published in October, 2014.

New kid Mitch Sloan wants to fit in, but his nerdy love of statistics and making money isn’t winning him any friends in his sports-loving town–until he finds the perfect way to attain instant popularity. But running a football betting ring at school eventually turns sour, and Mitch loses the only real friend he’s made. He’ll have to win her back by using his brainpower for good and helping the school football team achieve victory–if they’ll listen to the advice of a former bookie! (recommended for ages 8-12)

Our First Inventory

Our library is looking more and more beautiful every day!  Last Monday, August 6th, our first shipment of 6,500 books arrived and was shelved by an awesome crew!  Then, on Thursday, August 9th, our next shipment of 5,800 books arrived and was unpacked and shelved.

This past Tuesday, August 14th, I invited six of the Bibliophiles (student library volunteers) from my previous school to come to England and have an inventory party to scan all of our library books!  The girls were AMAZING, and we were able to scan ALL of our 13,000 library books in less than 5 hours!!!  They also helped unpack our new calculators and CD players and straighten the library.  I truly appreciate their help this week, because without them, our library would still have a long way to go before being ready!

I can’t wait until next Thursday’s Open House when I get to share our beautiful library with the entire England Community!  Please be sure to stop by and take a look around!
