To say our students have been a little excited to meet kid-lit-tunes musician Emily Arrow is an understatement! We’ve been reading books, singing her songs, and watching her YouTube videos for months, and the day finally came for her to sing with us LIVE and IN PERSON from the Elsa England Cafeteria!!!!!!
These rockstar PreK, K, & 1st grade teachers are also Emily Arrow Superfans🌟! We loved every minute of her visit, & can’t wait until her return (hopefully soon)! Psst: see our Arrow-themed shirts?! 🎶📚❤️🤩 @ElsaEngRRISD #LibrariesRRock Thanks again @ElsaEngPTA for your support! pic.twitter.com/kR0yez6dIP

At the end of January, we held our sixth annual Bluebonnet Voting Parties!! This year, so many students were eligible to vote that we had six HUGE voting parties in the library!
A record-breaking 454 students cast their vote digitally, hung out with their friends, ate freshly popped popcorn (with/without m&m’s), enjoyed Bluebonnet-related games, and proudly wore their “I Voted” sticker the rest of the day. It was a BUSY day, and SO MUCH FUN!!!!

Have you ever been to the Texas Book Festival at the Texas Capitol? If not, you are missing out! It is a wonderful, FREE, family-friendly event for children and adults who love books! The Texas Book Festival features many authors and illustrators, as well as fun reading-related events throughout the weekend.
On Saturday, November 4th at 10:00 am, a group of students from Austin-area schools will be announcing NEXT year’s Texas Bluebonnet Award list! If you are planning to attend the festival, be sure to stop by the Texas Tent at 10:00 on Saturday morning for that special announcement! Also, our very own 2nd graders from Ms. Holcek’s class will be introducing Author & Illustrator Brian Floca on Saturday at 2:00pm in the Children’s Read Me A Story Tent!
