Summer Fun

Since my last blog post, we have all finished up a great school year, and I have been very busy selecting and ordering the thousands of fabulous books that will soon fill up our library shelves!  Last week, I sent off my very first book orders for England Elementary, and I can’t tell you how exciting it was to click the “send” button and know that thousands of wonderful books would soon be on their way to our new school for YOU to read and enjoy!

I hope that you have had an awesome summer so far, and that you are reading LOTS of wonderful books!  Last week, another librarian and I taught our June session of Camp Bluebonnet — a four-day reading camp for students entering 3rd-5th grade held at Great Oaks Elementary where we read five of this year’s Texas Bluebonnet Award nominated books and have LOTS of fun activities to go with each book.  Our first session was SO much fun, and we are looking forward to teaching the camp again July 9-12!  There are still a few spots left in the July session, so click the link below if you are interested in signing up!

There are also great summer reading programs available from both the Round Rock Public Library and Barnes & Noble.  All Round Rock ISD students can check out books and participate in the Summer Reading Program from the RRPL between June 4th and August 6th — even if you live outside of Round Rock City Limits!  More information on those reading programs can be found in the links below.

I hope everyone continues to have an awesome summer, and I am looking forward to meeting and seeing all of the England school community soon!  Please keep checking back here often, as I am planning to make several other posts this summer on our library blog, and possibly give away a prize or two! 🙂
