Gingerbread Man Literacy Night
Over 100 Kindergarten and 1st Graders had a blast last night at our annual Family Literacy Night! Students dressed in their pajamas and enjoyed reading an eBook version of The Gingerbread Man, learning a little bit about the folk tale, and participating in hands-on learning stations related to the story.
RRHS Dragon Tales Football Players were here to interact with the students and share their love of reading and learning. They also brought a huge box of t-shirts to give away to our students, so many students entered their names in the drawing and won a Dragon Tales T-shirt!

Fun with Postcards from Camp
Last night’s Postcards from Camp Bluebonnet FUN Night was lots of fun! Â Third through fifth grade students from England, Sommer, Jollyville and Forest North and their parents were entertained with a lively performance of the Bluebonnet book, Postcards from Camp.
Five students performed in a Readers Theater rendition of Postcards from Camp and did a FABULOUS job! Â Everyone enjoyed their storytelling and their hard work and rehearsing paid off with a job well done. Â (Below: Xander, Lilly, Kendall, Taylor & Elle)
Then, we were all in for a treat as we participated in a camp style “sing-a-long” led by the fabulous Mrs. McDaniel (music teacher extraordinaire at Forest Creek Elementary).
The evening concluded with a delicious campfire treat — s’mores!
Thank you to all of the families who joined in the fun! Â We hope that some of you are able to attend our final Bluebonnet FUN Night next Thursday, December 6th, at Forest North Elementary!
Fall Into Reading Night – Tuesday 10/16
We hope you’ll join us for our first Fall Reading Family Night at England Elementary next Tuesday! Â We’ll have fun stations for students and parents to visit, and all students attending have a chance to win free books!
Thank you to our fabulous PTA for making this awesome event possible!  See you on Tuesday 🙂
